An estimated $2;000 in mer chandise was stolen including 19 f guns, an undetermined imount of ammunition, air con litioner, two radios, watches ind over forty cartons of ciga rettes. There was no cash taken. The burglars also left two muzzle loading antique guns that have been on display in the store for quite sometime. The burglars apparently en tered through the front door by prying the lock open, but the plate glass windows were un harmed. Owners Goerge Jordan and Terry Dedmon were out of town on a fishing trip at the time of the robbery. It was learned that a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Harold Ridenhour Wins Bronze Star Army First Sergeant Harold B. Ridenhour, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ridenhour, 4 Watt St., Cooleemee, N.C., recently received the Bronze Star Medal in Vietnam. Ist Sgt. Ridenhour was presented the award for merit orious service in connection with military operations against hostile forces in Viet nam while assigned as first sergeant with the 590 th Mainte nance Company. His wife, Peggy, lives at 16 Grove St., Cooleemee, N.C. Wednesday, July 29, 1970 Carolina was notified by the county sher iff's office due to the theft of the weapons. Robin, Freddie and Billy Trexler are talking, but they are using sign language. Davie Football Practice Begins On August 10 A once a day football practice will begin on August 10th at 6 p.m. at the Davie County High School for all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. All boys must have their parent's permission slip, physicals and insurance money at this time. The gym will be open on August 5, 6, 7, to pick up equipment Freshmen will report on August 28th, at 1 p.m. to pick up their equipment and their in surance must be paid at this time. Six Locals Get Honors At Rowan Tech Six local youths have been named to the honors list at Rowan Technical Institute in Salisbury. To qualify for the honor list, a student must take a minimum work load of 12 quarter hours and maintain at least a 3.0 average with no grade lower than a C.
